We refer to the Consumer Protection (Electronic Trade Transaction) Regulations 2024 (‘the Regulations’) which came into force on 25 December 2024. The six (6) month grace period following the Regulations coming into force will end on 24 June 2025. As such, online marketplace suppliers shall, pursuant to reg 3 of the Regulations disclose the following information:
- Name
- Website (if any)
- Email address and telephone number
- Address
- Description of goods or services
- Full price including hidden costs (transport, taxes etc)
- Method of payment
- Terms and conditions of sale
- Estimated time of delivery
- Certificate that goods or services have followed standard of safety and health as determined by any competent authority (if any).
Pursuant to reg 4 of the Regulations, the information disclosed shall be in the national language and any other languages may be used in addition to the national language. The full Regulations can be accessed here.
