Tee Puang Yan (Senior Associate)
Puang Yan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Multimedia University, Malaysia in 2012. She was also the recipient of the Bernard Kok Prize for Civil Procedure for the graduating class of 2012. Upon graduating, Puang Yan commenced her legal career in Melaka, Malaysia, and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in August 2013.
Prior to joining Richard Wee Chambers, Puang Yan has had extensive experience in real estate practice, banking laws and corporate and commercial practice, and was a Junior Partner in one of the largest legal firms in the Southern region of Malaysia before relocating to Kuala Lumpur.
She has advised clients from various industries, including renowned real estate developers for integrated development projects, mining companies, private hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies.
With over ten years of legal practice under her belt, Puang Yan specialises in the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts. In the recent years, Puang Yan has assisted clients in various high-value property acquisitions as well as joint venture projects.
Puang Yan joined Richard Wee Chambers in November 2024 as a Senior Legal Associate.

Drafting and advising on agreements related to mining activities including the agreements to grant exploration rights, joint ventures in relation thereto and subsequent agreements for the sale of minerals
Preliminary study and advisory works relating to the asset securitisation
Advising on a multitude of business and commercial contract such as manufacturing agreements, supply agreements and distribution agreements
Preparing and reviewing corporate share sale agreements, share swap agreements, shareholders’ agreements and subscription agreements
Advising on establishment of private fund in Labuan
Drafting and advising on real estate transactions including sale of properties by developers as well as in the secondary market
Drafting and advising on lease and tenancy matters involving various types of property
