Janessa Kok (Senior Associate)
Janessa Kok is a Senior Associate in the Employment & Industrial Relations practice group. She holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Liverpool and a Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP). Janessa was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2017.
Janessa commenced her pupillage under Richard Wee in 2017, where she was exposed to matters of litigation and industrial relations. Her growth and interest in employment law developed profoundly to the point where she was appointed as co leader of the Employment and Industrial Relations team at her previous firm. Other than defending matters at the Industrial and Labour Courts, Janessa also conducted several trainings and seminars on labour and employment topics.
In 2021, Janessa expanded her career by joining in-house at an international financial institution for four years as an Industrial Relations Specialist to enhance her knowledge in the corporate industry. She has widened her experience and knowledge in managing employment and industrial relations matters for large organisations such as a telecommunication company as well as an international bank.
In September 2025, Janessa returned to legal practice, and joined Richard Wee Chambers as a Senior Associate.
