Janessa Kok (Senior Associate)
Janessa Kok is a Senior Associate in the Employment & Industrial Relations practice group. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Liverpool and a Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP). Janessa was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2017.
She began her legal career as a pupil under Richard Wee in 2017, where she gained early exposure to litigation and industrial relations matters. Her keen interest and rapid development in employment law led to her appointment as co-leader of the Employment & Industrial Relations team at her previous firm. Beyond representing clients before the Industrial and Labour Courts, Janessa also delivered training sessions and seminars on a range of labour and employment issues.
In 2021, Janessa broadened her expertise by moving in-house as an Industrial Relations Specialist. Over four years, she deepened her experience in managing complex employment and industrial relations matters for large organisations, including a telecommunication company and an international financial institution.
In September 2025, Janessa returned to private practice and joined Richard Wee Chambers.
