Hon Shiao Pei (Associate)
Shiao Pei graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Leeds in 2019 and completed the Bar Professional Training Course at BPP Law School, Leeds, in 2020. She was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2021.
She commenced her pupillage at one of Malaysia’s leading law firms in 2021, where she gained exposure to various corporate transactions. In April 2022, Shiao Pei was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A). She has assisted in advising on private and public M&A transactions across the manufacturing, logistics, banking, and insurance industries, where she conducted legal due diligence, drafted and reviewed transactional documents, and managed signing and closing matters. In addition to M&A, Shiao Pei also advises on general corporate matters, including incorporation of a company, regulatory compliance, corporate restructuring exercises, and joint ventures.
Shiao Pei’s practice also extends to the equity capital markets, where she has experience conducting legal due diligence for local initial public offerings (IPO). She also advises foreign clients on the compliance with Malaysia Securities Laws, particularly in relation to the offering of shares to Malaysian shareholders.
She joined RWC in September 2024 and continues to focus on corporate and commercial transactions and advisory works.
