On 27 November 2023, the Managing Partner of Richard Wee Chambers, Mr Richard Wee was graciously invited as a keynote speaker at the annual International Conference on Innovation and Technology (ICITS) 2023, co-organised by the Malaysian Sports Technology Association (MySTA) and the National Sports Institute of Malaysia (ISN).
Secretary General of the Youth and Sports Ministry, YBhg. Ts. Dr. Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu, officiates the event by highlighting the importance of biomimicry in the sports science industry. The session is followed by a short tea break, and proceeded by Mr Richard Wee’s talk on Sports Technology & Innovation: Developing, Incubating & Regulating.
Mr Richard Wee highlights the various regulations surrounding sports technology and innovation, including regulations on the usage of sports data, financial technology, sports related injuries, and various rules of tournaments. He then proceeds to substantiate the significance of up and coming sports technology startups by placing emphasis on the ongoing National Technology & Innovation Sandbox (NTIS) by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia, and of other foreign countries.
