On the 4th of September, the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) held a workshop at their auditorium. The topic of the seminar was about the Introduction to Sports Dispute Resolution. It is part of an ongoing September month of Sports Law Talks, Webinars and Workshops. Our Managing Partner, Richard Wee was invited to conduct this workshop together with three fellow speakers namely ; Ms Jessie Liu of the Asean Football Confederation, Nik Erman of Messrs Amir Khusyairi and Associates and Sri Sarguna Raj of Messrs Christopher and Lee Ong.
At the workshop Richard addressed the four areas of sports law namely Regulation of Sports, Integrity in Sports, Governance of Sports and Doping in Sports. He had explained how these areas relate to Disputes Resolutions. The talk was well received with a fairly large crowd in the auditorium. In fact it was AIAC’s inaugural public event since the Movement Control Order (MCO) came into force in March 2020.
When approached, Richard has this to say “I am honoured and pleased to be invited. It is always a pleasure to be able to meet fellow Sports Law enthusiasts, and to share the stage with three other speakers who are passionate about sports law. I wish to thank AIAC for the kind invite.”
On the 11th of September 2020, AIAC will conduct another workshop about Esports Law. RWC is pleased to share that our Partner, Marlysa Razak is invited by AIAC to speak and conduct that workshop with two other speakers.
